There have been plenty of whispers regarding Amazon launching its own NFT.
- Amazon has mentioned they want to take progressive steps towards incorporating more Web3 features into its platforms.
- For now, the marketplace will have 15 NFT collections available for US based consumers. Eventually they plan to expand worldwide.
- Consumers will be able to purchase, for example, a fashion-oriented NFT tied to a pair of shoes — and pay with a credit card. Essentially you get a digital and physical version of what you purchased.
We don’t exactly know what to expect from this launch as we are still awaiting clarity. The main idea is that Amazon is entering the NFT market, and as it is already the world’s largest e-commerce company, we can expect some success.
